To Develop Tourism, Timor Leste Would Learn from Bali

Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika accepted the state visit of Minister of Tourism of Timor Leste Manuel Vong at Governor office, in Denpasar, on Friday (18/5). 
Manuel Vong explained that nowday Timor Leste Timor Leste’ economy depends on three sectors, which are oil industry, agriculture and tourism. Therefore, we know that oil industry and agriculture are limitable sector, so that country would expand to tourism industry which is planned until the next 2030 of development. “We have the 2018-2030 stretegic plan by making Timor Leste as ‘new destination’ in Asia,” said Vong. 
To realize that plan, He hopes Bali could become a tourism gate for Timor Leste. Even though there are no many flight schedules connecting between Bali and that country, He expected Bali tourist would taking time to visit Timor Leste. He also added the supported infrastructures are under construction. According to him, Timor Leste has religious, culture and historic tourism potential. One of these site is the renovated Giri Natha temple. 
Furthermore, Vong also plans to develop human resources inorder to suport Timor Leste tourism. That reason becomes the choice of Bali as a place to learn. 
Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika appreciated Timor Leste government’s expectation. As an island country, He assumed that there are the similars geographical potential between Bali and Timor Leste. He added, humas resourches is becoming a key to realize the quliafied tourism. He added Bali has qualified university to develop human resourches in tourism field. “Even Tourism University of Nusa Dua will be visit by the participants of IMF-World Bank Forum in the next occassion,” said Pastika. 
Timor Leste has a good relationship with Bali. That country both having a consulate general and participating on Art Festival Event in Bali. 
That meeting was also attended by the ranks of the Tourism Ministry, Consul General of Timor Leste for Bali, head of Bali Tourism Agency, head of Governement Bureau of Bali, head of PR and Protocol Bureau as well as the representatives of Bali Tourism Board. (PM)
