The Viral Trash in Manta Point was Caused by Sea Wave

Government ensures the viral video about trash on Nusa Penida sea located in Manta Point area recently is an incidental that was caused by sea wave. It was conveyed by head of PR and protocol Bureau of Bali Provincial Government Dewa Gede Mahendra Putra on the press conference in Denpasar, on Tuesday (13/3). 
 
Dewa Mahendra explained Head of Environmental Agency Gede Suarjana was represented Bali Governor in attending a coordinating meeting that leaded by Coordinating Minister of Maritime Luhut Binsar Panjaitan in Jakarta. Thet meeting disscused about garbage handling in Bali. One of discussion point is the investigation ressult of coordinating ministry team investigation related the viral video about plastic trash airing in Manta Point that was uploaded by England tourist, Richard Horner. “According to data that was collected during the research from the date 1 to 10 by Coodinating Ministry team cooperated with related agency together with NGO for environment, there is not any trash in Manta Point area except in the date of reported by that tourist,” explained the beaurocrate who come from Buleleng. Even he added that the team had met Richard Horner near location and he said has been diving frequently in Manta Point and didn’t find any trash anymore. Based on ITB (Bandung technology Institute) expert analysis as coordinating ministry team explained, Nusa Penida waters is influenced by southwest moonson and Indonesia cross flow that moved from north through south Lombok. Therefore, while tidal waters, trash in the sea will exists in a matters of hour. 
 
However, Dewa Mahendra ensures government will never letting that situation. “Coordinating minister had instructed to solve the problem,” said him. One of ways is accepting Bali Provincial Government suggestion to install the trash trap at rivers in Bali, so there is not trash flowing to the sea. Bali government he said has installed in four rivers and got the satisfied result. Bali government also always educates community to process waste properly and involves traditional village and community in processing waste. Head of Environmental Agency also explained the problems faced by provincial government so that getting an attention from central government. 
 
that meeting also discussed how related agencies like regencies government, police, transportation agency, Navy and private sector will be involved to handle that waste problem. Some solution discussed to solve trash problem were neting trash by ship and law enforcement as well, added Dewa Mahendra. 
 
beside that, Suwung landsfill, junk mail as well as trash process into energy became the topict of that meeting. 
 
that meeting was also attended by Minister of Environment Siti Nurbaya, Ministry of Transportation, Bali chief Police, Tabanan regent, acting of Denpasar Mayor, Badung vice regent, World Bank team, environment’s NGO and other related agencies. (PM)
