Bali and India Explore Increased Cooperation

Bali and India havebeen having a closed relationship since ancient times. These two also have some similarity on religion and culture. So that relationship is expected will be stronger in the future. It was told by India Ambassador for Indonesia and Timor Leste, His Exellency Pradeep Kumar Rawat  while met Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika in governor’s office, on Thursday (21/12).

Furthermore, He who was also accompagnied by Consulate General Sunil Babu said his country is ready to cooperate in many sectors, such as infrastructure, development of culture preservation, increasing of human resourches quality and development of tourism. “Regarding background we have, I’am sure we are able to establish many sectors of cooperation in the future. I hope the cooperation and our brotherhood will be more stronger,” added him.

His exellency also adores the beauty and extraordinary culture of Bali, the island he visits for the first time. Until today, Bali becomes the first tourism destination choice, and 60% of its citizen spent their holiday in this island. On that occassion, He also appreciated Bali government’s services to India tourist while Ngurah rai Airport was closed due to Mount Agung’s Eruption. For the future, the Ambassador also expected Bali could be sister province of Uttarakhand in India. That province also known as Land of the Gods and has many Hindu temples, withal it also becomes center of pilgrimage. So it is the best choice making Bali which also known as Island of Gods as a sister province.

Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika who was accompanied by Head of PR and Protocol Agency Dewa Gede Mahendra Putra, Head of Culture Agency Bali Dewa Putu Beratha and Head of Tourism Agency Anak Agung Gede Yuniartha appreciated and welcomed sister province plan between Bali and Uttarakhand. Through these two similarity, Pastika is optimistic that cooperation will give a positive impact for both India and Bali. “India and Bali have closed relationship, and trough the establishment of sister province will be further strengthening our brotherhood, I appreciate it and ready to coordinate to realize that plan,” explained him.

Related to cooperation in infrastructure and others, Pastika really appreciated and will coordinate with central government. (PM)
