Writer: Bagian Berita

Crisis happened in Bali due to excessive news of Mount Agung should be a moment to be self-intropection. Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika stated, Bali will become better after passing this crisis. "We are unidted at this floor to face crisis that for me will bring Bali to be the better one,” said Pastika when met Bali Tourism Society Alliance (AMPB) in Bounty Cruise, on Sunday (17/12).

According to Pastika, in the midst of crisis, there is a change and this is an outstanding ad for Bali. The world is talking about Bali, we no need go to everywhere to promote Bali. Because of this crisis, Bali is talked by the world. “So we should be optimistic. It may a nature sign that Bali will become stronger than before,” said him optimistically.

Bali tourism recently is at the lowest poin, and it becomes pause time for Bali to take self-reflection. “So let’s do self-reflection, for those who can’t sell happiness, together we go towards. This is the best moment to think, are we deserve become ‘The Best Destination In The World’ for eight years,” said him.

On that occassion, Pastika also invited media to report good news, Bali is Indonesi’s spirit, what happen today in Bali will influence other region of this country. “This is time we fix all things, so let’s unite,” urged him.

Pastika also invited tourists don’t hesitate come to Bali. He also ensured the accomodation and transportation toward closest airport for tourists if Ngurah Rai Airport is closed. "If the airport is closed, I am going to take care of you, to accomodate your accomodation and transportation to the alternative airport. It’s free, and I will move my office to airport," stated Pastika. Pastika stated eagerly government together with related stake holders are able to handle thos disaster.

Head of AMPB, Gusti Kade Sutawa tpld the same thing and invite all Bali tourism sectors that consist of hotels, restaurants and the most important mass media to always spread positive information about Bali. “However, recently media, both print, electronick and social media has taken part as ‘take lead’,” said him. Gusti hoped all balinese people unite and support government policy, if Airport is closed, we provide accomodation and transportation.

 Letusan Kecil Gunung Agung

Governor Pastika explained last eruption of Mount Agung was in 1963 with 5 level of eruption. The impacted areas were only 9-12 km from the crater center. At that moment only 22 of 716 villages in Bali were classified as danger areas. While eruption in 19963, Mount Agung had small crater and caused a huge eruption, meanwhile now that crater is 5 times bigger than before, it just causes small busts not huge eruption. The past, we had neither good transportation nor modern communication tools nor early warning tools, so most people were not alert. berbeda The condition is different today.

“We try convince closed countries revokes the issued travel warning and travel advised. We deliver Bali is safe, except traveling in 8 km of radius from the peak, that’s it. We also ensure tourists visit Bali would get best attention, we arrange free hotels and transportion for them,” said Pastika.

That explanation as well as dismiss the mistaken assumption of countries have issued travel warning, ans as an effort to convince that Bali is safe fro the eruption. Pastika stressed the misstaken on using the term, especially using for english translation. The word ‘eruption’ and earthquake’ have been used recenlty not as grotesque as imagined.

"That mistaken interpretation makes people outside there imagine terrible eruption and earthquake has occoured in Bali,” told Pastika while inviting all media spread positive information..(PM)
