Post lowering of Mount Agung Alert from level four “danger” to level three “alert”, Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika denied rumor that the 150 thousand of refugees are forcibly repatriated. It was conveyed in hospitality conference with media crew in press room, PR and Protocol Agency of Bali, Denpasar on Monday (30/10). According to him, after lowering the alert, there are only six villages that are included red zone with 6 – 7,5 kilometres of radius and 47 thousand inhabitants. “For the rest we are not forcing, if you want go home we please not mean expel. Or those who want to stay in shelter, it is not a problem. But honestly, there is no comfort staying in shelter, sleeping with many people, nonjob and life is limited,” explained him who also accompanied by head of PR and Protocol Agency I Dewa Gede Mahendra Putra. So he demanded to journalist to clear the rumor in society, because that status was lowered by the authority, the Volcanology and Geological Mitigation Disaster Agency (PVMBG).
Furthermore, 1st man of Bali also said refugees is not depend on loss or profit, it is the responsibility of government to ensure the safety and comfort of its people. Pastika told, all should obey the instruction of PVMBG, because it has the authority related on Mount Agung development. “If it lower the status and states the situation is safe, so please back to your home, for those whose homes are in red zone, please stay in shelter. Because the authority has the proper and modern calculation, and the eruption in 1963 does not to be a benchmark,” said him. However, people is demanded to stay calm and stay alert because that volcano could erupt.
He also said government has provide truck and bus to transport refugees back to their homes, they only coordinate with the authority. He also added, along there is the refugees, the emergency response status is still used, in order to apply logistic.

Conciding with Galungan feast in 1st November, pastika invited Balinese people to interpret deeper, especially in this situation. According to Pastika, Balinese people should interpret that vplcanology phenomene, and we should strengthen our sense of brotherhood. “We could celebrate royally, making much of lawar (Balinese traditional dish) is also normal, but please remeber our poor brother, give it bit, even for those in the shelter,” explained him.
On that occassion, this is time for more learning or religion, not only the feast. “Ask yourself, is it whorth we celebrate the feast day. Have we been free from AIDSS deases, A means Amarah or angry, I means Iri or envy, D means Dengki os spite, S means Sombong means Arrogant and the last S means Serakah or greedy. If we are free from these bad character, menas we are whorth to celebrate the feast day. Even more in the situartion, we should strengthen the brotherhood,” concluded him. (PM)
