Politic is one important factor in guiding a nation. Furthermore, politic is able to protect a nation from the worse condition as well. One media to learn politic is in college, where the institution creates the great politicians who will deliver new idea in the politic world. Therefore, political science which is delivered in college, should be adapted on current situation or the reality happened in political world. It was addressed by Bali governor Made Mangku Pastika on his speech when opening the International Conference on Social And Political Issues (ICSPI) in Sanur Paradise Plaza Hotel, Denpasar, on Wednesday (19/10). He expected through that event which presents political experts both from Indonesia and abroad, will discuss deeply the real political situation in national and international level. “Many politicians are not graduate of political science but they often practice the politic, meanwhile we often forget practice and knowledge are not the same thing actually, so through this conference I expect will create new initiators so the political science is more referring to the fact which is faced by politicians,” added him. The event which was held for the first time by Social and Political Science Faculty (FISIP) of Indonesia University also presented the sixth President of Indonesia HE Prof. DR. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) who was as a keynote speaker. On the presentation, SBY spoke about “Knowledge and Social Transformation “. He addressed the important of science rule with social transformation in a country. SBY also explained in detail that Indonesia has lost many social transformation moments in the world, like military revolution, industry revolution in England, and political revolution happened in Europe and Latin America which influence Indonesia as well. According to him, these moment were occurred while Indonesia people were living in poverty and ignorance, even when Indonesia declared its independence, 90% of Indonesian people were illiterates. When the father of nation began knowing the science and modern life, so the new episode of Indonesian history had been begun, finally the nation's sovereignty has been recognized by international after the independence proclamation. In journey of each era, Indonesia faced some challenges. SBY who had raised the Transformation issue when fighting the presidential election in 2004, stated that the transformation is more than reformation process. Transformation needs a perspective, new management system and developed institution which are able to position Indonesia in the world that is also believed will affect this nation for whole aspects. According to SBY, the biggest transformation in 21th century is not only focusing on nation development process, but more to develop the democracy. Not only respect the difference, protecting nation integrity, but also respecting the difference of opinion both in the form of expression, assembly and press freedom. It would certainly bring the influence for Indonesia in the world view and vice versa. He ensured after the social transformation, many investment will come to Indonesia both in form of capital, trade, tourist and infrastructure management, and it also making Indonesia is connected with various country that are member of ASEAN in south-east Asia region. “This is an extraordinary transformation occurred in Indonesia,” said him. Not only for ASEAN, then Indonesia also is involved towards the world problem related to earth, human and next generation problem. On that occasion, SBY also emphasized the important of the similarity in the sustainable development in the current environment issues. He also expected the college is able to do the innovative transformation in the ecosystem which also impact to the society and environment. In the end of speech, He emphasized that the science and social transformation nowadays have been an instrument for Indonesian journey as a nation. Both of them have strengthened the nation, raised the democracy in responding the challenge. “Let’s we work together constructively in building Indonesia in this 21th century, and lets protect the continuity of organism, climate and the future of humanity,” said him. In that international conference that is held from 19 to 20 October 2016, was also attended by 122 participants come from 9 countries including Indonesia.
