Minister of Law and Human Right Officially Opened The Forum of 20th Directors General of Immigration in Discovery Kartika Plaza, Kuta

Minister of Law and Human Right Yasonna H Laoly officialy opened the forum of the ASEAN Dorectors General of Immigration Divison in Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, Kuta, Badung on Wednesday (21/9). Yasonna H Laoly who was also accompanied by Governor of Bali Made Mangku Pastika and Director General of Ministry of Law and Human Right of Indonesia Dr. Rony F. Sompie, SH, MH, gave a warmest welcome to all delegates from throughout countries in ASEAN region on the event with entitled “The 20th ASEAN Directors General Of Immigration Departement And Head Of Consular Affairs Divisions of Ministries of Foreign Affairs (20th DGICM).  On that occassion, Minister Yasonna H Laoly conveyed his pride and appreciation on chosen Bali as a host of this international event.

Extensively, He explained that the immigration problems always challenging all countries. Because it concerns on the community as well as the good cooperation amongs countries. Not suprisingly, many transnational crime happened because of less alert of immigration system in one country. So through this meeting, Yasonna H laoly expected all delegations could exchange the knowledge and share the experience about a good immigration management as well as to strengthen the cooperation amongs directors generals immigration of ASEAN country.

Furthermore, the discussed issues concerning on regional cooperation for Foreign Terrorist Fighters crime prevention and the cooperation for illegal immigrant detection related to transnational crime, should be made a firm recommendation. “It’s very important regarding the huge effect caused by transnational crime including drugs trading, human trafficking, human trading, corruption and money laundring as well as terrorism,” explained his. Besides the countering, he also added the important of prevention and early detection on the possibility of transnational crime. “So that, to counter that problems, I expected we could work together, hand by hand in order to prevent the rise of transnational crime as well as happened in the borders,” concluded him.

Previously, Governor Pastika for several times conveyed his pride on the election of Bali as a host of this international forum. Regarding Bali’s experience as a host, Pastika gave a full warranty on the security of province which also known as Island of Gods, Island of Paradise, Island of Democracy and Island of Love.

Besides that, He also conveyed his expectation so that forum could empower all immigration intelligent as well as to synergize all works with governments across sectors. “In the end, we will have the best immigration police in the world,” added him. He also expected this forum will also increase the coordination among immigrations institution in ASEAN countries in order to achieve the safety, orderly and peaceful situation in ASEAN region and generally in the world.

Meanwhile, Director General of Immigration of Ministry Law and Human Rights, Ronny F Sompie reported that Indonesia chosen as a host because the deal of member of country on previous forum last year in Cambodia , and the next forum will be held in Laos. According to him, the forum attended by 10 delegations of directors’ generals from ASEAN country as well as presents the representative from the secretariat of ASEAN organization. The forum will be held for four days, from 20 through 23 of September 2016 and will discuss two important issues including; regional cooperation for preventing Foreign Terrorist Fighter Crime and regional cooperation for early detection of illegal immigrant which is also related to transnational (FTF) crime.  “I hope this forum could be formulate a cooperation in order to prevent FTF.,” added him. Besides forum among director general of immigration of ASEAN, at that moment also occur The 12th Asean Immigration Intelligence Forum whichis also a part of DGICM. Some issues discussed on that event are the prevention of terrorism in South Asia region, the prevention of immigration crime (falsification of documents, violation of residence permits, till the human trafficking and trading), border’s security as well as check point.
