INTRODUCE BALI POTENTIAL, PASTIKA OFFERS A COOPERATION OPURTUNITY WITH UKRAINE

Governor of Bali Made Mangku Pastika presented Bali’s potential to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko directly in a short meeting in Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center hotel, Nusa Dua, on Sunday (7/8). On the front of President with his delegation who come from East Europe, Pastika explained even though Bali is a small island, but its beauty is very popular in the world and also being most favorite tourism destination since decades ago. According to him Bali becomes more popular since being a host of international conferences like APEC and Miss World.  “Moreover after Julia Robert filmed Eat Pray Love in Bali, Bali is more famous in the world,” said him.
The 1st man of Bali also explained that nowadays Bali efforts using new and renewable energy in order to realize becoming green province and Green Island as well. “We also promote the tourism of Bali as green tourism which is expected will be a plus points for our tourism besides to contribute for climate change in the world,” said him. Since the establishment Bali as a pilot project in developing new and renewable energy, Bali has established itself minimize the chemical use in agriculture industry as well as change into environment friendly energy. “And it becomes the special attraction for tourists, we are considered propose a beauty and clean island,” stated him. With 12 tourists visit a year, Pastika targeted be able more increasing in the future. By President Poroshenko visit to this island, peoples of Ukraine are expected would follow President to come to Bali as a tourism destination. Besides in tourism field, Pastika expected for the future will be established a closer cooperation in others field, like trading, agriculture as well as education field.
Meanwhile President Petro Poroshenko very appreciated the warm welcome of Governor Pastika. He explained that his visit to Indonesia aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation between these two countries. He had met President Joko Widodo in National Palace and had signed the agreement consist of free visa for service passport owner and diplomat, diplomatic education, defense and agriculture. He also visited Yogyakarta and met Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X. Even though the cooperation between two countries has been established since 20 years, but he felt need to visit this country again in order to strengthen the cooperation. Ukraine is the 2nd largest Indonesia’s partner country for trading in Middle and East Europe region. Indonesia exports to Ukraine coconut oil, palm oil, paper and cooking oil. Indonesia also import wheat flour and steel from Ukraine. Poroshenko signaled to offer establish a cooperation with Bali in trade and export-import of craft field. In tourism field, He invited Pastika and staffs to visit his country as well as to promote tourism potential of Bali to Ukraine’s people, even though Bali has been famous in his country. It is proven by the statistical record that at least about 5.000 Ukraine’s people are in holiday in Bali each year. In education field, he also expected be able to conduct a student exchange program between two country. “Even there are Ukraine’s students have college here in Bali, in Udayana University, so we offer a opportunity to Balinese people to study in Ukraine,” concluded him. 
That meeting also attended by Ministers of Ukraine, The Indonesian Ambassador for Ukraine Niniek Kun Naryati and the official of Bali provincial government.
